
Galloway Named Male Scholar-Athlete of the Week

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Freshman John Galloway, a goalkeeper on the men’s lacrosse team, is the Syracuse University Male Scholar-Athlete of the Week for the week of May 12.
Galloway, from Syracuse, N.Y., earned Athletic Director’s Honor Roll distinction following the fall 2007 semester. He is majoring in broadcast journalism.
Galloway has started all 15 games in between the pipes for the Orange in 2008. He has claimed 123 saves and boasts a .549 save percentage and 7.35 goals-against average.
The No. 3 Orange bested Canisius, 20-3, in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament on Sunday at the Carrier Dome. Syracuse meets sixth-seeded Notre Dame on Sunday, May 18 at Cornell’s Schoellkopf Field at 3:00 p.m.
