Junior attack Katie Rowan is currently featured on laxmagazine.com in a piece that highlights her record-setting performance this season. Click here to learn more about Rowan, who has became Syracuse's all-time leader in points (278), goals scored (176) and assists (102) this season.
Rowan leads the nation with 136 points this season, 37 more than the next-highest scorer. She needs just 12 points to tie the NCAA record points in a season of 148 set by Maryland's Jen Adams in 2001. In addition, Rowan has dished out 65 assists this season, leaving her four shy of tying Northwestern's Hannah Nielson's NCAA single-season mark of 69 in 2007.
In the first round of the NCAA Championship, Rowan set school and NCAA Championship single-game records with 13 points and eight assists, leading the Orange to a 21-9 victory against Towson.
Syracuse hosts North Carolina in the quarterfinals of the NCAA Championship on Saturday in the Carrier Dome at 1 p.m. The Orange, which has won 10 straight, enter the game with a record of 17-2. The Tar Heels are 13-6 this season. Click here to purchase tickets.
