Four Members of SU’s Track & Field Squad Set to Represent the Orange in NCAA Championships

DES MOINES, IOWA – Seniors Jillian Drouin, Ramon Sosa, Kyle Heath and Kaity Lambracht will represent Syracuse University at the 2008 Men and Women’s Division I Outdoor Track and Field NCAA Championships in Des Moines, Iowa from Wednesday, June 11 to Saturday, June 14. Drouin will compete in the high jump and heptathlon, while Sosa qualified in the 110-meter hurdles. Heath will compete in the 3,000m steeplechase, while Lambracht will take part in the heptathlon competition.
CBS College Sports Network (formerly CSTV) will be airing live television coverage Friday from 7-10 p.m. (CST). CBS will also broadcast live coverage of Saturday’s final day of competition from 3-5 p.m. (CST).
Drouin ( Jillian Drouin’s Schedule )executed a season-best performance to win the women’s high jump at the NCAA East Regional, clearing the bar at 1.84m. The senior repeated as the heptathlon champion at the 2008 BIG EAST Outdoor Championship with an NCAA automatic-qualifying total of 5,554 points.
Sosa ( Ramon Sosa’s Schedule ) placed fourth in the men’s 110-meter hurdles at the NCAA East Regional with a time of 13.88.
Lambracht ( Kaity Lambracht’s Schedule ) finished third in the heptathlon at the BIG EAST Championship with a personal-best 5,329 points. She also took second place at the ECAC Championship, tallying 5,321 points.
