1. Why did you choose your number?
I have just always been 15, ever since high school. Actually, my freshman year when I came here and I redshirted, 15 was taken, so I was number three. I switched when I was a sophomore, which was as soon as I could get it.
2. Who is your favorite team to play and why?
I think Pitt is because they’ve always been a really tough team. The past few years we’ve beat them because we’ve been super energized. We know the players better so we know how to break down their players. They’re exciting to play.
3. What is your favorite practice drill?
It’s a love-hate relationship. When I’m the only setter on the court, I have to run from one side of the net and then go set the other side. I’m constantly setting one team and then the other. I’m running back and forth and back and forth. It’s a love-hate relationship because it’s exhausting but it also makes me better.
4. What is your favorite SU volleyball memory?
Last year we poured a big Gatorade water jug on coach Jing after the Villanova game when we beat them. It was the game that brought us to the tournament.
5. What is the best advice you’ve received in college?
The best advice would be just to learn about yourself as much as possible. College is the best time to figure out who you are and develop as a person.
6. Where do you see yourself in five years?
Hopefully working for a good company. I don’t know where exactly, but probably with an investment bank or financial services company.
7. What has been your favorite class at SU and why?
My favorite class was Philosophy 191 because it makes you really think about things from a lot of different angles. The professor was really cool and made the class really interactive. I actually won $50 from him because I earned a 100% on one of his tests. I told him I would but he did not believe me.
8. What is your favorite song as of right now?
I like the Jason Mraz song, I’m Yours.
9. Do you have any nicknames from the team?
No, not these girls. The older girls I used to play with had some.
10. Do you have any advice for younger teammates?
To stay focused. This can be a really rewarding experience if you put a lot of effort into it, on and off the court. You get a lot out of the four years of being student-athlete, so take advantage of it.
