SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Syracuse women’s basketball team plays its third consecutive road game to open the 2008-09 season when the Orange travels to Columbus, Ohio for a contest against 2007-08 NCAA Tournament Ohio State on Wednesday, November 19 at 7 p.m.
SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Syracuse women’s basketball team plays its third consecutive road game to open the 2008-09 season when the Orange travels to Columbus, Ohio for a contest against 2007-08 NCAA Tournament Ohio State on Wednesday, November 19 at 7 p.m.
The game will mark the ninth meeting between the two universities with the Buckeyes boasting an 8-0 advantage. The Orange is 0-5 in Columbus, including a 116-75 setback in the second round of the 1988 NCAA Tournament.
Ohio State returns four starters, including Big Ten Freshman and Player of the Year Jantel Lavender. The Buckeyes also return Shavelle Little, the 2007-08 Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year, and Star Allen, a 2007-08 Second-team All-Big Ten honoree. Ohio State was 16-1 at home last season. The Buckeyes own the seventh-best winning percentage (.838) and the ninth-most wins (109) of all NCAA Division I teams over the past four seasons
