
Orange Hosts St. John's in BIG EAST Opener

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Syracuse women’s soccer team opens BIG EAST play on Friday when it hosts St. John’s at 6 p.m. at the SU Soccer Stadium. The Orange is coming off a victory against Colgate and enters the contest with a 2-3-1 record. St. John’s is 4-1-1 this season and tied for fifth in the Northeast Regional rankings.

ORANGE IN BIG EAST OPENERS
Friday’s game against St. John’s begins the BIG EAST season for the Orange. Syracuse is 3-7-1 all-time in BIG EAST openers. The Orange has opened its BIG EAST schedule with the Red Storm every year since 2004, and is 2-2 in those games.The matchup is also the third game in the Orange’s four-game homestand.
BELLINGHAM TIED FOR BIG EAST LEAD IN GOALS SCORED
Sophomore Megan Bellingham is tied for first in the BIG EAST in goals scored. She has netted a career-high five goals this season. Bellingham, Villanova’s Kaitlin Ryan, Notre Dame’s Kerri Hanks and Georgetown’s Toni Hudson have each scored five goals this season.
