The Syracuse men’s lacrosse program and the Orange Club have several events scheduled as part of an alumni weekend to benefit the Stickmen’s Club and celebrate the team’s latest national championship. The festivities get underway Friday, Sept. 5 and 40 to 50 former players are expected back in town.
The weekend kicks off with a golf tournament and barbeque at Drumlins Country Club on Friday afternoon. The tournament will begin with a shotgun start at 1 p.m on Drumlins West with the cookout to follow.
On Saturday, the Orange’s 2008 NCAA Championship team will be recognized at halftime of the football home opener against Akron. The game begins at 3:30 p.m. Tickets for Saturday’s game are still available online and at the Carrier Dome Box Office (1-888-DOMETIX). Members of the national championship team will also be on the Quad to sign autographs prior to the contest as part of the pre-game festivities.
After the football game, the team and alumni will adjourn to Drumlins for a banquet to celebrate the championship season. The banquet begins with a cocktail hour at 7 p.m. followed by dinner at 8 p.m.
