Junior Angie Sagnelli anchors a strong Orange pitching staff as a middle reliever. The Fairport, N.Y. native made 13 appearances in the circle in 2008, compiling a 6-1 record with a 1.72 ERA through 39.0 innings of work.
Why did you choose Syracuse?
The combination of academic and athletic opportunities: great Sport Management program and strong BIG EAST conference.
What is the best part of being a Syracuse student-athlete?
Definitely has to be those daily 5:45am workouts
What is your favorite part of fall ball?
Nothing counts, so you can play like there is nothing to lose
How do you use fall ball to prepare for the season?
It's good to see how my pitches are moving in game situation
How do you think the team can improve on the 2009 season?
Take care of our business. If we stop worrying about the other team and play against ourselves, we'll win.
What is your favorite practice drill?
Rapid fire diving for ground balls
Why did you choose your number?
I wear it for my husband, Derek Jeter
Who is your favorite opponent and why?
Depaul, because they are our fiercest competition

Working for the New York Yankees
What advice do you have for your younger teammates?
Get involved in as many activities as possible and don't hold anything back because college is only four years. It goes by quicker than you think, and then before you know it you're old.
