Syracuse University's Student-Athletes Across Borders (SAAB) hosts its second annual International Soiree on March 1, 2009 at the Schine Underground from 7-9:30 p.m. The event includes live performances from student groups across campus and will be catered with international foods. Admission is free.
The International Soiree is an opportunity to highlight the many international students on campus, and specifically, within athletics.
“It is my hope that events such as this can inspire others to think of this world, not as divided by physical and figurative boundaries, but as one unit as is witnessed on the SU campus daily,” said SAAB president and track and field hurdler Terry Marshall. “We all come from differing backgrounds, yet we unite on the playing field and in the classroom to work together to achieve one common goal.”
SAAB is a recognized student-athlete organization within the Office of Student Life. It was created in 2007 with the intention of providing a support network for international student-athletes from recruitment to career planning.
Tickets will be available at the Schine Box Office beginning February 15.
