FOXBORO, Mass. – The second-seeded Syracuse men's lacrosse team took to the practice field today at Gillette Stadium in preparation for Saturday's semifinal contest against third-seeded Duke. The Orange and Blue Devils tangle at 12:00 p.m. on ESPN2.
Syracuse hit the turf at the home of the New England Patriots at 10:00 a.m., practicing for the allotted 75 minutes allowed by the NCAA. Head coach John Desko, in his 11th season at the helm for the Orange, addressed the squad before monitoring team warm-up drills, six-on-six situations and simulated man-up scenarios.
Syracuse, an 11-6 winner against Maryland in the NCAA quarterfinal round on May 16, will face the Blue Devils for the first time since the 2002 postseason. Duke advanced to the semifinal round following a 12-11 victory against ACC foe North Carolina on May 17.
The Orange and Blue Devils precede the day's second semifinal pairing, featuring top-seeded Virginia and fifth-seeded Cornell 30 minutes after the conclusion of Syracuse-Duke contest.
