'Cuse Classic To ESPN Classic In 24 Hours

Syracuse's stunning 10-9 overtime victory against Cornell in the 2009 NCAA Men's Lacrosse Championship will be re-televised by ESPN Classic on Tuesday, May 26 at 7:00 p.m.
The victory was SU's 11th NCAA title in the sport and the fifth with Coach John Desko at the helm. The Orange successfully defended its championship from a year ago in dramatic fashion, fighting back from a three-goal deficit in the final four minutes of play.
Senior Kenny Nims tied the game with four seconds left in regulation after a stunning, behind-the-back pass from senior Matt Abbott. In the extra session, Cornell claimed the faceoff but senior Sid Smith forced a Big Red turnover. At the other end, senior Dan Hardy faked a shot and dumped the ball off to junior Cody Jamieson who tallied the title-winning goal.
