SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Orange fans can relive all the excitement and pageantry of the men's lacrosse team's run to the 2009 NCAA title with “Back-2-Back Champs,” the exclusive highlight DVD commemorating Syracuse's second straight championship season. The DVD hit stores on Tuesday, July 14 and it is also available online at SUathletics.com by visiting the Orange Team Shop.
Retail price for the DVD is $19.95 and it's available in the University Book Store located in the Schine Student Center, Manny's and Shirt World on Marshall Street and Lacrosse Unlimited in the Wegman's Dewitt Plaza on E.Genesee Street in Fayetteville.
Fans that pre-ordered copies of the DVD can expect to have their order filled in the coming days.
“Back-2-Back Champs” was produced and directed by Syracuse's Roger Springfield. It chronicles the Orange's journey from the start of the regular season to its pulse-pounding overtime victory against Cornell in the national championship game. The DVD features exclusive interviews and extras, including Roy Simmons Jr.'s acceptance speech at the 2009 Tewaaraton Awards banquet in Washington, D.C.
Syracuse finished with a 16-2 record for the second consecutive year and became the first team in more than a decade to repeat as NCAA champions. The Orange reeled off nine straight wins to end the season, including a 10-9 victory against Cornell in overtime to secure its 11th national championship.
