Syracuse offensive tackle Jonathan Meldrum injured his upper arm on August 31, 2009. An MRI performed on September 1 confirmed an injury. No surgery is required. Meldrum's game status is to be determined. A two-year letterwinner, Meldrum has played in 19 games in his Syracuse career. In 2007 he was named to the Rivals.com BIG EAST All-Freshman Team.
Syracuse kicks off the 2009 season against Minnesota on Saturday, September 5 in the Carrier Dome (12:00 p.m., ESPN2). Tickets are available online and at the Carrier Dome Box Office (888-DOME-TIX).
