
SU Renews Series With St. Bonaventure

SYRACUSE, NY -- Long-time rivals Syracuse and St. Bonaventure will get back together on the hardwood when the Orange host the Bonnies on Saturday, Dec. 19, 2009, in the Carrier Dome. It will be the first pairing between the two foes since the 2006-07 season.
Syracuse has a 22-3 advantage in the series with St. Bonaventure which dates to the 1923-24 campaign. The Orange has won the last 12 contests with the Bonnies, including an 82-70 victory on Dec. 30, 2006.
Mark Schmidt is in his third season as St. Bonaventure's head coach. He was the coach at Robert Morris prior to moving to Olean, N.Y.
St. Bonaventure made a seven-win improvement between Schmidt's first and second seasons, going from 8-22 to 15-15. The campaign included an overtime triumph against BIG EAST Conference member Rutgers. The Bonnies were 6-10 in the Atlantic 10 Conference.
