SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Senior Jackie DePetris (Radnor, Pa.) and junior Alex Giocondi (Oyster Bay, N.Y.) have been named the Syracuse University Scholar-Athletes of the Week for the week of March 15, 2010.
DePetris plays attack on the women's lacrosse team. She has played in all four games for the Orange this season, tallying eight points on seven goals and an assist. DePetris also has four ground balls and a pair of caused turnovers on the season.
DePetris is a dual major in health and exercise science and psychology. The women's lacrosse team hosts Towson at the Carrier Dome on Wednesday, March 17 at 3 p.m.
Giocondi is a midfielder on the men's lacrosse team. He has played in two games for the Orange this season, tallying an assist and a ground ball.
Giocondi is an entrepreneurship and emerging enterprises and marketing management major in the Martin J. Whitman School of Management. The men's lacrosse team visits Johns Hopkins on Saturday, March 20 at 8 p.m. in Baltimore, Md.
