ROCHESTER, N.Y. - The National Lacrosse League's (NLL) Rochester Knighthawks are offering a chance to see some of the top players in Syracuse history at Blue Cross Arena this season as part of its $44 “Orange” Lacrosse Pack". The package allows fans to see “2 22s for $44.”
The package, which includes two tickets in the 200-premium seating area, offers fans two options to see former Syracuse stars Gary Gait and Cody Jamieson, who both wore the legendary No. 22 during their days with the Orange. Gait is the current head coach of the SU women's lacrosse team.
The first option features another former No. 22, Casey Powell, and the Boston Blazers on Saturday, Jan.29. The 7:35 p.m. game will also feature past SU greats signing autographs prior to the contest.
The second package includes two tickets in the 200-premium seating area for the Saturday, Feb. 26 game against the Edmonton Rush. Prior to the game, fans can get autographs from former SU stars. Current Knighthawk and former SU defenseman Marshall Abrams will sign autographs at 6:15 p.m. in the upper atrium lobby on Jan. 29. Former Knighthawk, Syracuse defenseman and current SU women's assistant coach Regy Thorpe will meet fans and sign autographs on Feb. 26. After both games, fans can come down the turf to get autographs from the entire Knighthawk team.
This season, the Knighthawks roster includes former Syracuse standouts Sid Smith, Scott Ditzell, Abrams, Gait and Jamieson. Jamieson and Smith were both No. 1 overall picks of the Knighthawks with Jamieson going first overall in 2010 and Smith getting the No. 1 nod in 2009. The Knighthawks will open their 2011 season on Saturday, Jan. 8 at Xcel Energy Center against the Minnesota Swarm. Rochester will open the home portion of its schedule on Saturday, Jan. 15 against the Toronto Rock at 7:35 p.m. at Blue Cross Arena.
