
Chandler Jones had two sacks against West Virginia for a loss of 19 yards

Following Syracuse's 49-23 win against No. 11/14 West Virginia on Friday at the Carrier Dome, the BIG EAST recognized several members of the Orange with weekly awards. Senior defensive end Chandler Jones was named the conference's Defensive Player of the Week, senior wide receiver Dorian Graham earned Special Teams Player of the Week honors, and senior quarterback Ryan Nassib was named to the Weekly Honor for the sixth time this season.
Jones, who returned to the field after missing the previous five games with an injury, had six solo tackles against the Mountaineers, including two sacks for a loss of 19 yards. He is 14th in Syracuse history is career tackles for loss with 22.0 for a loss of 82 yards, and is 14th in career tackles by a down lineman with 120 total.
Graham ignited the Carrier Dome on Friday night when he took back a kickoff 98 yards for a touchdown. It is tied for the sixth longest kickoff return in Syracuse history, was the first kickoff returned for a touchdown since Mike Holmes' 90-yard run back against Pittsburgh in 2008. Graham also had five catches for 66 yards against West Virginia, and was named the College Football Performance Awards' National Kick Returner of the Week on Monday.
Nassib threw for four touchdowns on 24-of-32 passing for 229 yards and also added a rushing touchdown. Three of his touchdown passes went to tight end Nick Provo, while Nassib completed passes to nine different receivers in the game. The West Chester, Pa. native is fourth on the SU all-time list for career touchdown passes with 37 and is seventh in career passing yards (4,279). Nassib is also fourth on the SU record list with 386 career completions and fifth in career passing efficiency (129.5).
The Orange head back on the road this weekend against Louisville on Saturday at 12:00 p.m. (BIG EAST Network. SU will return to the Carrier Dome on November 11 against South Florida (8:00 p.m., ESPN2).
