SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Graduate student Lindsay Rodgers (Rochester, N.Y.) of the Orange women's lacrosse team and junior Collin Donahue (Camillus, N.Y.) of the men's lacrosse team are the Syracuse University Scholar-Athletes of the Week for the week of Feb. 14, 2011.
Rodgers is a defender for the Orange women's lacrosse squad. A team co-captain, Rodgers played in five games last season before sustaining a knee injury, which sidelined her for the remainder of the 2010 campaign. In 2009, Rodgers was an All-Northeast Region Second Team selection and earned Second Team All-BIG EAST honors after ranking second in the BIG EAST and 24th nationally with 2.95 draw controls per game.
Rodgers, a graduate student in instructional design, development and evaluation, and the Orange open their 2011 schedule on Thursday, February 17 when they host Colgate in the Carrier Dome at 5 p.m.
Donahue plays attack for the men's lacrosse team. A 2010 BIG EAST All-Academic selection, Donahue led Syracuse with four points on a goal and three assists in its scrimmage against Canisius over the weekend. Donahue sat out the 2010 season after transferring from Rutgers.
Donahue, a dual major in earth science and earth education, and the Orange host Denver in their season opener on Sunday, February 20 at 1 p.m. in the Carrier Dome.
