NIKE/Inside Lacrosse Poll | USILA Poll
BALTIMORE – The Syracuse men's lacrosse team retained its No. 1 ranking in both national polls this week after defeating Villanova in exciting fashion Saturday. The Orange owns the top spot for the sixth week in the latest NIKE/Inside Lacrosse Poll released on Monday, March 28, and sits alone atop the USILA Coaches Poll for the fourth consecutive week.
The Orange received 259 points and 12 of the 13 first-place votes in the media poll. In the USILA rankings, Syracuse earned 280 points and all 14 first-place nods. Fellow BIG EAST member Notre Dame received the other first-place nod in the media rankings and moved up to second in both polls following Virginia's loss at Johns Hopkins.
Three ACC teams – Duke, Virginia and North Carolina rounded out the top five in the media poll. Duke, North Carolina and Johns Hopkins make up the remainder of the top five in the coaches' rankings.
The Orange returns to action on Sunday, April 3 when it faces Duke in the nightcap of the Konica Minolta Big City Classic. Faceoff is 6:30 p.m. at New Meadowlands Stadium.
