Men's Soccer Completes Recruiting Class

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Orange men's soccer coach Ian McIntyre finalized this year's incoming class on Wednesday, May 25 announcing the addition of six players to the program.
Highlighting this round of signees is junior college All-American Ted Cribley as well as Jide Oluyedun and Nick Perea. Oluyedun and Perea both have United States Soccer Development Academy Experience, and Perea participated in two matches with the United States U-20 National team in January.
Overall, the group joins 12 student-athletes that previously committed to the Orange in the February to make up this year's incoming class.
The following six players round out the Orange's 2011 group of signees:
Brandon Albert, Defense, 6-2, 175, Massena, N.Y.
Played for the Albany Blackwatch and Ottawa Fury of the Super Y League … Two-time captain of the Fury. McIntyre on Albert: “Brandon came onto our radar a little late in the recruiting process and was outstanding during our Syracuse Winter Soccer Camp. We are delighted to have Brandon join us and he has the physical qualities and soccer IQ to help us in the back this year.”

McIntyre on Asiamah: “Evan's a terrific pick up for us who has progressed well under Coach Nick Dimitrievski at Bryant and Stratton. He has the technique and athleticism to immediately help us.”

McIntyre on Müller: “Lars is a strong, fast forward who we feel can unbalance opposing defenses. He has the ability to play several roles for us and we believe he will make a quick transition to life in the BIG EAST.”

Captain at Shattuck-St. Mary's School of the United States Soccer Development Academy … His Region 2 team won the 2009 ODP national championship … Has four goals and three assists so far as a senior. McIntyre on Oluyedun: “Jide is an exciting player who has the versatility to play several roles for us and he has the physical talents to quickly adapt his game to a college environment.”
Nick Perea, Midfield, 5-10, 170, Hollywood Fla.
Member of the Weston FC of the United States Soccer Development Academy … Led the Nova Southeastern University School to its first 3A state championship … Received all-county honors from the Miami Herald and Sun Sentinel … Played two matches for the United States U-20 National Team in January. McIntyre on Perea: “Nick is a clever player who is constantly on the move and I believe that he has the ability to play a very important role for our team.”
