SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Former Syracuse men's goalkeeper Jeremy Vuolo is in the midst of a successful start to his professional soccer career. Vuolo owns a 6-1-3 record for the Finnish club AC Oulu of the Veikkausliiga – Finland's top soccer league.
Vuolo has five shutouts this season and earned game MVP honors following the team's 1-0 shutout of OPS in the Oulu City Derby on June 22. As a result, he was nominated for the league's June Player of the Month Award.
Vuolo played one season at Syracuse after transferring from Hartwick College. In 69 games between the two schools, he recorded a 1.07 goals-against average and notched 21 shutouts, including three for the Orange in 2010.
Vuolo signed a one-year contract with AC Oulu back in February.
