Caira Goes for Bronze at World Cup of Softball

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. – Coming off a win in her last start against the USA, Syracuse pitcher Jenna Caira leads Team Canada into the bronze-medal game on Monday evening at the 2011 World Cup of Softball.
Caira threw a gem on Saturday against Team USA, allowing two runs on five hits in five innings of work. She also re-entered in the bottom of the seventh with two runners on and no outs. Caira recorded two strikeouts and a groundout to secure the 4-3 victory for Canada.
Sunday action saw Australia defeat Canada 8-3, setting up a rematch between the two teams on Monday at 5 p.m. EST for the bronze medal. USA will face Japan in the championship game at 9 p.m. EST.
