Simon Earns BIG EAST Honor

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Freshman Erin Simon garnered BIG EAST honors this week as she was named to the conference's women's soccer Honor Roll. Simon scored her third game-winning goal of the season on Saturday in Syracuse's 3-0 victory against St. John's.
After coming into the game for the injured Brielle Heitman (Mahwah N.J.), Simon scored less than a minute later. She took a pass from senior Jasmine Watkins (Chicago, Ill.) on the right side and put her shot inside the near post to give the Orange a 1-0 advantage.
Simon also notched the game-winning goals this season against Long Island and Pittsburgh. She is tied for second on the team in points (10) and goals (4).
The Orange goes on the road to face Notre Dame in the quarterfinals of the BIG EAST Tournament on Sunday, Oct. 28 at 1 p.m.
