DeRemer and Scharfe Named Orange-Scholar Athletes of the Week

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Junior Russ DeRemer (Wrentham, Mass.) of the men's basketball team and junior Margot Scharfe (Toronto, Ontario) of the women's ice hockey team are the Syracuse University Orange Scholar-Athletes of the Week for the week of November 26, 2012.
DeRemer has seen court time in three games so far this season. He has been a member of the Athletic Director's Honor Roll every semester here at SU. The junior guard was also a member of the BIG EAST All-Academic Team both years. He is majoring in finance and policy studies in the Whitman School of Management.
Scharfe has played in all 14 games in 2012, registering five goals and five assists for 10 points. The junior forward has been a member of the Athletic Director's Honor Roll all four semesters. She is majoring in advertising and psychology in the Newhouse School of Public Communications and the College of Arts and Sciences.
DeRemer and the men's basketball team will face off against Arkansas on the road Friday Nov. 30 at 8:30 p.m. in the SEC/BIG EAST Challen ge. Scharfe and the rest of the Orange ice hockey team will take on Robert Morris Friday Nov. 30 at 7:00 p.m. at home in the Tennity Ice Pavilion.
