SU Climbs In National Polls

Nike/Inside Lacrosse Poll | USILA Poll
BALTIMORE – The Syracuse men's lacrosse team is ranked sixth in both national polls this week following its 12-7 season-opening win against Albany. Syracuse climbed one spot in the latest Nike/Inside Lacrosse Top 20 Poll and two spots in the latest USILA Coaches' Poll, released Monday, Feb. 20.
The Orange garnered 327 points in the media rankings and 175 points in the coaches' poll. Defending national champion Virginia maintained the top spot in both polls after a 9-8 victory over Drexel in its season opener.
In the media rankings, the Cavaliers are followed by Johns Hopkins and Cornell. Notre Dame, fresh off a 7-3 win against Duke climbed to fourth, and North Carolina is fifth, one spot ahead of the Orange.
With its triumph over the Blue Devils, Notre Dame vaulted to No. 2 in the USILA rankings. Johns Hopkins is third, followed by North Carolina, Cornell and Syracuse.
The Orange returns to action on Sunday, Feb. 26 when it hosts Army at 2 p.m. inside the Carrier Dome. The game will be televised live on Time Warner Cable Sports and SportsNet New York (SNY). Tickets are available online, at the Carrier Dome Box Office (Gate B) or by calling 1-888-DOMETIX.
