New York's College Team Partners with Yankees

Opening day in Yankee Stadium means another opportunity for New York's College team. Syracuse University athletics will have a presence in Yankee Stadium for the next four years, courtesy of an agreement for 200-level porch signage through the 2015 season.
“Our wonderful relationship with the Yankees has given us a creative way to deliver our message of being New York's college team and trying to represent the great Empire state with extraordinary success,” said Syracuse Director of Athletics Dr. Daryl Gross. “As the only BCS University in the State of NY, we feel it is our responsibility to be successful in everything we do. We are so proud to have our brand in Yankee Stadium, where the Yankees are recognized as the greatest sports franchise in history. We strive to have such greatness.”
Syracuse's New York's College Team initiative kicked off in 2005, spinning out of the 'Orange is in the Apple' campaign. The campaign has increased the Orange brand nationally and globally. The athletics program extends itself to New York City, with the football, men's basketball and men's lacrosse teams competing in front of the 45,000 alumni who reside in the Big Apple. New York's College team has been represented on Times Square billboards, the ABC ribbon board, New York City taxi tops, and at the US Open with the Orange box, and the Orange football team wears 'NY' on the helmets. Syracuse also has a presence on the airwaves across the state through its partnership with SNY Television and on the radio in the metropolitan area via New York City partner WNYM-AM 970, and in the marketplace with Syracuse merchandise available in Nike Town, Lids, Nike ID, Modell's and Champs.
