SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Rising Syracuse University sophomore Ralph D'Agostino and the United States U-19 Men's National Lacrosse team begins play at the 2012 Federation of International Lacrosse (FIL) U-19 World Championship on Friday, July 13 in Turku, Finland. The Americans face fellow Blue Division opponent Australia at Noon (EST) tomorrow in their opening game.

D'Agostino, who played in 13 games and collected 17 ground balls for the Orange in the spring, is one of six defensemen on the 23-man U.S. roster.

This year's world championship consists of 12 countries separated into three divisions. Joining the U.S. and Australia in the top (Blue) division are Canada, England and the Iroquois Nationals. Those five nations will play a round-robin schedule from July 13-17. The medal round begins Wednesday, July 18 with the gold-medal game and closing ceremonies slated for Saturday, July 21.

The Americans are the six-time defending U-19 world champions. They are 36-0 all-time in world championship competition since the event was sanctioned in 1988.
