SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The trio of Alex Halis, Chris Nanco and Emil Ekblom made the midseason list of TopDrawerSoccer.com's Top 100 Freshmen earlier this week. Halis checks in at No. 5, while Nanco and Ekblom rank 20th and 45th, respectively. Ekblom (8), Halis (5) and Nanco (4) have accounted for 17 of the team's 26 goals and they are Syracuse's top three goal-scorers.

Ekblom is second in the ACC in goals and ranks third in the conference with 19 points. After posting SU's first hat trick since 2008 and setting an SU Soccer Stadium record with seven points (three goals, one assist) against NC State on Oct. 4, Ekblom was named the Disney Soccer/NSCAA Division I Men's Player of the Week and the ECAC co-Offensive Player of the Week.

Halis is second on the team with 11 points on five goals and one assist, while Nanco has posted nine points on four goals and one assist. The former high school teammates combined for all four Orange goals against Manhattan on Sept. 9, registering two apiece. Halis leads the Orange three game-winning goals in 2013.
Georgetown rookie Joshua Yaro tops the list. He's followed by Delaware's Guillermo Delgado, Virginia's Jordan Allen, Indiana's Tommy Thompson and Halis.
