Softball, Eight Individuals Honored By NFCA

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Eight members of the Syracuse softball team have been recognized by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) as All-America Scholar Athletes for the 2012-13 season, the NFCA announced on Monday, Oct. 7.
Alexis Partyka, Emily Thompson, Jenna Caira, Gaby Torzilli, Jessica Martin, Korena Fenton, Shirley Daniels and Stacy Kuwik all represented SU on the list. The award is given to any student-athlete submitted by a member coach, and who achieved a 3.50 grade point average or higher during the 2012-13 academic year.
Additionally, as a team, the Orange was honored by the NFCA as a 2013 Top Ten All-Academic Team. SU last earned the stats of All-Academic Team from the NFCA following the 2010-11 season.
