
At No. 2, SU earned its highest ranking in the Coaches Poll this season

The Syracuse men's basketball team picked up two additional points in the USA Today Coaches Poll on Monday afternoon to move into a tie with Ohio State at No. 2. The Orange stayed pat at second in the Associated Press top 25.
Coming off a 68-63 victory at St. John's in its first road game of the season, SU inched closer to the top spot after moving into a tie with Ohio State. Both teams have 748 points and each received one first place vote. Arizona maintained the No. 1 ranking with 30 first place votes. Louisville and Michigan State rounded out the top five.
In the AP rankings, the top eight remained unchanged. However, the Orange is now within 101 points of the top-ranked Wildcats, who nabbed 63-of-65 first place votes. Syracuse had the other two. The rest of the top five is Ohio State, Wisconsin and Michigan State.
SU returns to the court on Friday, Dec. 20 at 7 p.m. for the first ever meeting with High Point. A potential top-10 showdown looms on the horizon the following week as the Orange will host former BIG EAST rival No. t8/12 Villanova on Saturday, Dec. 28.
