
SU Men’s Hoops Holds Steady At No. 2/2

Syracuse remains one of eight unbeaten teams in the Division I ranks this season and checks in at No. 2 in both the Associated Press Top 25 and USA Today Coaches polls.
The Orange improved to 12-0 following a 78-62 win against previously undefeated and then-ranked No. 8/11 Villanova on Saturday. With the victory, SU earned 22 additional points in the Associated Press poll and has a total of 1,550 points. The squad also picked up three more first place votes for a total of five.
Arizona, which received the other 60 first-place votes, was ranked first for the fourth consecutive week in both polls. The top-five stayed the same in the AP rankings with Ohio State at third followed by Wisconsin and Michigan State.
SU continues to inch closer in the Coaches Poll as well, picking up nine more points to up its amount to 762, just 36 votes behind the top-ranked Wildcats. Syracuse, along with No. 3 Ohio State, each grabbed one first place vote. Michigan State and Wisconsin both slid up one spot to fourth and fifth, respectively.
The Orange wrap up the non-conference schedule with Eastern Michigan on Tuesday, Dec. 31 at 3 p.m. Tickets are available online, in person at the Carrier Dome Box Office (Gate B), or by calling 1-888-DOMETIX.
