Rice Earns BIG EAST Honor Roll Nod

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Syracuse sophomore attackman Kevin Rice was named to the BIG EAST Honor Roll for the first time in his career Monday, March 25. Rice averaged 3.5 points per game in a 1-1 week for the Orange.

Against Providence on March 19, Riced tied his career high with four points (two goals, two assists) in the team's 18-9 win. He followed it up with two goals and one assist in Saturday's 11-10 loss at Villanova. For the season, Rice ranks second on the team in scoring with 17 points (seven goals, 10 assists).

St. John's swept this week's BIG EAST awards. Attackman Kieran McArdle was named the BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week for the second straight week after tallying 17 points (six goals, 11 assists) in wins against Hofstra and Robert Morris. Red Storm goalie Jeff Lowman was tabbed BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week for making 34 saves (17 per game) in the two contests.

Andrew Barton (Providence), Kris Alleyne (Rutgers), Thomas Croonquist (Villanova) and John LoCascio (Villanova) joined Rice on the honor roll.

Syracuse returns to action Friday, March 29 when it hosts Canisius at 7 p.m. inside the Carrier Dome.
