
SU Duo Receives Midseason AA Honors

BALTIMORE – Earlier this week, Inside Lacrosse released its midseason All-America teams and Syracuse seniors JoJo Marasco and Brian Megill were named to the first team.

In all, 32 players from around the country were recognized on two 16-member teams picked by the magazine's staff and contributors. Marasco was one of four midfielders selected to the first team, joining Tommy Schreiber (Princeton), Jim Marlatt (Notre Dame) and John Haus (Maryland). The quartet of Megill, Joe Fletcher (Loyola), Jason Noble (Cornell) and Michael Ehrhardt (Maryland) made up the first-team defense.

Marasco leads the Orange in scoring with 24 points, including 17 assists. His 2.43 assists per game this season is the second-best total in the nation for a midfielder. Marasco has a point in every game this year and he recorded eight points (three goals, five assists) against Albany in the season opener.

The 2013 BIG EAST co-Preseason Defensive Player of the Year, Megill is second on the Orange in ground balls (22) and he leads the team in caused turnovers (14). He ranks 12th nationally in caused turnovers per game at 2.0 per contest.

Marasco, Megill and the rest of the Orange return to action tonight versus Canisius. Faceoff is set for 7 p.m. at the Carrier Dome.
