Michael Carter-Williams finished the season ranked fourth in steals average and fifth in assist average among Division I performers.

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Sophomore guard Michael Carter-Williams has decided to put his name in the 2013 NBA Draft, according to Syracuse men's basketball coach Jim Boeheim.

"Michael has informed me of his intention to enter the NBA Draft," said Boeheim. "He's coming off a tremendous season and we appreciate all he's done for Syracuse basketball. We wish Michael the best of luck as he pursues a pro career."

Carter-Williams started all 40 games for the Orange this season. He was among the nation's leaders in assist and steal average for most of the season. Carter-Williams finished fifth in assist average (7.3) and fourth in steals average (2.78) among Division I performers. He also averaged 11.9 points per game and a squad-best 35.2 minutes a game.

Syracuse ended the campaign in the NCAA Semifinals where the Orange was defeated by the eventual runner-up, Michigan. Syracuse was 30-10 overall and ranked third in the final USA Today Coaches Poll announced following the Final Four.
