
Brady Rourke will lead the Stevenson Academic Center for Student-Athlete Development as its associate director.
Rourke Promoted to Associate Director

Brady Rourke has been promoted to associate director of the Stevenson Academic Center for Student-Athlete Development and will oversee day-to-day operations of the center. Rourke, who joined the staff in March as an assistant director, will develop programming to further the academic and personal growth of SU student-athletes. In this role, Rourke will work closely with Associate Provost Dr. Andria Costello-Staniec and Athletics Director Dr. Daryl Gross to enhance the academic support center, strengthen relationships with schools and colleges on campus, and monitor the NCAA eligibility, Annual Percentage Rate (APR), and Graduation Success Rate (GSR) of Syracuse student-athletes.
A 2003 graduate of Penn State University, Rourke brings seven years of experience in the academic support profession to his role as associate director of student-athlete development. He began his career in academics as a graduate assistant for the PSU football academic support program from '03-'06. Rourke served as academic coordinator for football and men's track and field programs at Arizona State University in '06-'07, before returning to PSU as academic coordinator for football student-athletes, a position he held till joining the Orange in February, 2013. In his role as academic coordinator at Penn State, Rourke also served as the Director of the Athletic Director's Leadership Institute, managing the student-athlete leadership development program available to all 31 varsity sports. He was also the faculty advisor for PRIDE, a student sportsmanship team at PSU, working with the students to address fan behavior. Rourke was an instructor for the freshmen seminar at PSU, educating incoming student-athletes about balancing athletics and academics.
In addition to serving as the academic coordinator for football and men' track & field at Arizona State, Rourke was also the career development coordinator. He was an instructor for freshmen enrichment and helped develop course content for the freshmen seminar to assist student-athletes in developing a strong academic foundation.
Rourke is currently Chair of the N4A Model Practices Committee for the National Association of Academic Advisors for Athletics (N4A). The committee is responsible for developing action plans to improve best practices in academic support. At Penn State, Rourke earned a bachelor's degree in rehabilitation services education in 2003 and a master's degree in higher education administration in 2006.
