
Marvin Harrison Named Finalist For HOF

Former Syracuse standout Marvin Harrison has been named a finalist to be inducted into the National Football League Hall of Fame's Class of 2014. Harrison played for the Orange from 1992-1995 before being drafted to the Indianapolis Colts, where he stayed for 13 seasons, retiring in 2008.

Harrison holds the Syracuse records for career receiving yards (2,728) and most receiving yards in a season with 1,131 in his senior campaign. He was the primary receiver for SU greats Donovan McNabb and Marvin Graves and went on to be Peyton Manning's favorite target with the Colts.

While with Indianapolis, Harrison produced eight 1,000-yard seasons including a 1,366-yard performance in 2006 en route to the Colts first Super Bowl in 36 years. His best year was 2002 when he caught 143 passes for 1,722 yards, the fifth-most in NFL history. In total, he amassed 14,580 yards in the air which ranks seventh all-time in the NFL record book and he is the only player to have more than 14,000 yards with a single team.
