Bono, Murrell Named to TDS Midseason List of Top 100 Players

SU duo leads one of the nation's best defenses
SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Junior goalkeeper Alex Bono and senior defender Jordan Murrell made the midseason list of TopDrawerSoccer.com's Top 100 men's college soccer players on Wednesday, Oct. 22. Bono checks in at No. 2, while Murrell is No. 49. The duo leads an SU defense that is tied for the national lead in shutouts (10) and ranks third in team goals-against average (0.39).

Bono is third in the NCAA in goals-against average (0.39) and save percentage (.885). He owns the best career goals-against average (0.78) in Orange history and ranks second in career shutouts (28). Earlier this season, Bono played more than 537 consecutive minutes without conceding a goal, the longest such streak in the SU record book.

Murrell is leading the Orange in assists for the third straight year. He has six helpers to go along with two goals. Murrell is tied for fifth on SU's career assists list with 19, the most ever for an Orange back.

UCLA midfielder Leo Stolz tops TopDrawerSoccer.com's list of the nation's best players. Bono, Joshua Yaro (Georgetown), Jordan Morris (Stanford) and Sean Davis (Duke) round out the top five.
