
Weekly Academic Honor Awarded To Brooks And Lynch

Lauren Brooks and Cameron Lynch are this week’s SU Scholar-Athletes of the Week
SYRACUSE, N.Y. – This week's Scholar-Athlete of the Week honors go to Lauren Brooks and Cameron Lynch. Both student-athletes have enjoyed a great deal of success on the field and in the classroom this season.
Brooks, a nutrition major, has played in all 11 games this season, starting in 10 of those contests, and has found the back of the cage seven times this season. The senior forward's seven goals on 21 attempts give her a .333 shot percentage, tying her for the best percentage on the team.
The field hockey team is coming off a 4-3 overtime victory on the road against Princeton yesterday and is now 8-3 on the season. Â Saturday, October 11, Brooks and her squad will come home to take on ACC opponent, Louisville at 11:00 AM at J.S. Coyne Stadium.
Lynch, an economics major, leads the SU defense this season with 40 tackles, 28 solos, 14 assisted, 6.5 tackles for a loss and 5.5 sacks. The outside linebacker and the Syracuse football team is 2-3 this season and will host national powerhouse, Florida State this Saturday, October 11 at 12:00 PM in the Carrier Dome. Fans will have the chance to watch the game on ESPN if they cannot attend homecoming game.
