Syracuse leads nation in average home attendance
SYRACUSE, N.Y. – There's no doubt the Carrier Dome is the place to be for college lacrosse. The 2014 season marked the third time in the last four years that the Syracuse men's lacrosse team led the nation in attendance. The Orange averaged 4,140 fans for its eight home dates, nearly 1,000 more per game than runner-up Ohio State (3,154).
Army (2,919), Virginia (2,904) and Johns Hopkins (2,763) round out the top five 2014 attendance leaders.
Syracuse has finished either first or second in average home attendance every year since 2010. In addition, the Orange owns eight of the NCAA's top 20 single-season total average attendance figures.
It's the second national attendance crown for a Syracuse program in 2013-14. The men's basketball team also led the NCAA, drawing 26,253 fans per home game.
