Orange head football coach Scott Shafer is the leadoff show for ESPN 97.7 FM 'Celebrity Week,' an opportunity for Central New Yorkers to get insight from a variety of notable locals from Syracuse University and local media, today (June 23). Shafer is taking fans' calls and questions from noon to 1:30, and will bring some special guests to join him during his stint.
SU's new Chancellor, Kent Syverud, takes the mic on Wednesday from Noon to 2pm. This is the first opportunity for Central New Yorkers to interact with the new chancellor.
Tuesday, TK-99's Gomez & Dave step over following their morning show to talk sports at their sister station. No strangers to sports – TK-99 is the flagship station of SU Athletics—Gomez & Dave will leave classic rock behind and interact with sports fans from Noon to 2 on Tuesday.
K-Rock's jocks will bring a unique perspective to sports talk. Rainman (Noon-1) and The Show's Hunter & Josh (1-3pm) will rock the ESPN 97.7 FM airways on Thursday.
CNY Central's Chief Meteorologist Wayne Mahar rounds out the week on Friday from Noon to 1. Wayne—a hockey player & sports fan—is looking forward to trading Storm Warnings for Sports Talk.
Soccer fans take note - ESPN Radio's network programming of World Cup Soccer will be played in its entirety on ESPN 1200 AM.
