SYRACUSE, NY -- Syracuse will host long-time rival St. John's on December 6, 2014, in the Carrier Dome. The game is the second contest of a home-and-home series announced prior to last season.

The two programs first met on February 8, 1912. Syracuse owns a 51-37 advantage in the overall series. The Orange have won the last nine pairings with the Red Storm, including a 68-63 victory at Madison Square Garden, last season.
SU earned its sixth consecutive NCAA Tournament berth and finished with a 28-5 overall record, last season. The Orange won 25 straight games to start the season and was ranked first in both national polls for three weeks.
Coach Jim Boeheim, owner of the second most coaching victories in Division I history (948), will guide his alma mater for the 39th season.
St. John's earned an NIT berth a year ago and finished its campaign with a 20-13 record. Steve Lavin enters his fifth season as head coach.
