Syracuse GA is one of 30 people invited to the program
Syracuse graduate assistant and former linebacker Siriki Diabate was selected to be one of 30 aspiring college football coaches to attend the 2015 NCAA and AFCA Future Football Coaches Academy.
Diabate had previously spent time with the Buffalo Bills' coaching staff this summer in advance of the Orange's season as a recipient of the Bill Walsh Minority Coaching Fellowship program.
In his two seasons with the Orange after transferring from Nassau Community College, Diabate made 101 tackles, including 13.5 for a loss. In 2012, Diabate served as a team captain and helped lead a defense that ranked sixth nationally in tackles for loss per game.
The Future Football Coaches Academy is an educational event for student-athletes who recently completed their collegiate eligibility and select individuals who have shown a desire to enter the college football coaching profession; who want to learn about the industry; and who want to explore coaching careers with the primary focus on intercollegiate athletics.
The event, which will run from January 11-13 in conjunction with the AFCA Convention, takes place in Louisville, Kentucky.
