
Rhynhart and Russell Earn Scholar-Athlete of the Week Honors

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Noah Rhynhart of men's soccer and Emma Russell of field hockey are this week's Orange Scholar-Athletes of the Week.
Rhynhart is a senior economics major with a double minor in history and political science. The Albany, N.Y. native has recorded three goals on the 2015 season, with his latest coming from a 5-0 win against Pittsburgh (9/25). He was also a member of the 2015 Spring Athletic Director's Honor Roll.
Russell, a senior on the #1 ranked field hockey team, is also pursuing a degree in economics. The Enniskerry, Ireland native broke the program record for career goals in the team's win over Yale (9/20), recording her 48th goal. Since then, Russell has added two more goals to her tally, totaling 50 career goals. The forward now has eight goals and 20 points on the 2015 season. This past spring, Russell was named the Female Athlete of the Year at the 2015 'Cuse Awards.
Rhynhart and the #22 men's soccer team host a pair of home games this week, first taking on Bowling Green on Tuesday, Oct. 13 at 7 p.m. at the SU Soccer Stadium. The Orange then return to the SU Soccer Stadium to take on ACC rival #5 Clemson on Saturday, Oct. 17 at 7 p.m. Admission is free for both games.
Russell and the field hockey team look to stay undefeated this Saturday and Sunday, matching up against two ranked teams at home. The Orange take on #7 Wake Forest this Saturday, Oct. 17 at 1 p.m. at J.S. Coyne Stadium. On Sunday, Oct. 18, the squad hosts #19 Princeton on Senior Day at 3 p.m. Admission is free for both games.
