
Tennis Takes On ITA Northeast Regionals

HANOVER, N.H.- The Syracuse women's tennis team travels to Dartmouth College this week for the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Northeast Regionals.
Freshmen Libi Mesh and Maria Tritou get the team started in play, opening up the first round of qualifiers with singles games against UMass and Rutgers. Tritou was defeated by UMass' Anna Woosley 6-2, 6-4. If Mesh wins her first round, she will play another round in order to qualify for the main draw.
Junior Valeria Salazar, graduate student Anna Shkundun and freshman Gabriela Knutson start play tomorrow Oct. 23 in the main draw. Doubles play will also start tomorrow as sophomore Nicole Mitchell will team up with Mesh, Shkundun will play with Salazar while Knutson and Tritou will play together.
