
Ekblom Signs with Stabaek Football Club

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Former Syracuse men's soccer forward Emil Ekblom has signed to play professionally for Stabaek Football, a Norwegian soccer club coached former U.S. Senior National Team head coach Bob Bradley. The club is based in a suburb of Oslo and competes in the Tippeligaen, Norway's top soccer league.

Ekblom led Syracuse in scoring in both 2013 and 2014. A two-time All-ACC selection, he tied for third in the conference in goals (8) and fifth in points (19) in 2014. Six of his eight goals were game-winners, tied for the third-most in the country. For his career, Ekblom recorded 18 goals and six assists in 39 matches for the Orange.

Preseason training is already underway for Stabaek, which comes stateside later this week for a series of friendlies against Major League Soccer (MLS) clubs. Stabaek has exhibition matches lined up against Chicago on Feb. 22, Vancouver on Feb. 25 and Portland on Feb. 28.
