ACC champs are top team in both national polls this week
BALTIMORE – The Syracuse men's lacrosse team is back on top of the national polls this week. The Orange moved from No. 4 to No. 1 in the most recent editions of the USILA Division I Top 20 and Cascade/Maverik Media polls on Monday, April 27 after winning the ACC Championship.

The Orange reclaimed the No. 1 ranking for the first time since March 23 by defeating then-No. 2 North Carolina in the ACC semfinals and toppling Duke yesterday to win the conference title.

Syracuse earned 380 points and all 19 first-place votes cast in the USILA poll. Notre Dame received 354 points and dropped to No. 2 after losing to Duke Friday. North Carolina (336 points) is third, while Denver and Duke are tied for fourth with 317 points.

The Orange garnered 479 points in the media rankings and 23 of the 24 possible first-place votes. Notre Dame (434 points, 1 first-place vote) is second, followed by Denver (424 points), North Carolina (417 points) and Duke (400 points).

Syracuse concludes the regular season on Saturday, May 2 when it visits Patriot League champion Colgate. Faceoff between the Orange and Raiders is slated for 3:30 p.m. on CBS Sports Network.
