
Orange Trio Earns All-America Honors

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Three members of the Syracuse women's lacrosse team have been named All-Americans by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association. Juniors Kayla Treanor and Halle Majorana are All-America First Team selections, and senior Kailah Kempney is a second-team pick. Treanor earns the honor for the third consecutive year, while Majorana and Kempney are first-time honorees.

Treanor is now the third player in program history to earn IWLCA first-team All-America honors three times in her career, joining Alyssa Murray (2011-14) and current assistant coach Katie Rowan (2007-06). Treanor leads the team in goals (57) and ranks second in points (86) and assists (29). She is a finalist for the Tewaaraton Award for the second consecutive season. Treanor was voted the ACC Offensive Player of the Year and was a first-team All-ACC selection. She earned the ACC Tournament MVP award after scoring game-winning goals in double overtime against Boston College and North Carolina in the championship game.

Majorana leads the team and ranks fourth in the nation in points with a career-high 89. She also leads the squad with 36 assists. Majorana was selected to the All-ACC First Team and voted to the ACC All-Tournament Team. She has recorded five or more points in 11 games this season. She registered a season-high seven points against Canisius in her second game as a member of the Orange.

Kempney broke her own single-season school record with 186 draw controls this season. She is Syracuse's career leader in that category and ranks fourth on the NCAA Division I career leader list with 439 draw controls. The second-team All-ACC selection has recorded 10 or more draws in seven games, including a school-record 14 in Syracuse's win against Canisius on opening day. In addition, Kempney ranks fourth on the team in scoring with 34 points (23g, 11a).

No. 3 Syracuse will be in action on Friday, May 22 when it takes on No. 1 Maryland in the national semifinals at 7:30 p.m. at PPL Park in Philadelphia.
