
'Cuse Dominates Le Moyne in Fall Action

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The Syracuse softball team continued its fall campaign, defeating local opponent Le Moyne 11-2 on Friday at Skytop Softball Stadium. With the victory, the Orange are now 2-0-1 on the fall season.

"We continue to take small steps forward offensively and defensively," Head Coach Mike Bosch said. "As a team we strive to get better every day. It was great to see a nice crowd out at the stadium on a Friday evening and our players are very appreciative of the support they receive."
Sophomore Olivia Martinez blasted a home run in the second inning to start the Orange off with a 2-0 lead. Sophomore Sammy Fernandez led the Orange offensively on the evening, racking up three hits and three RBIs. Freshman Hannah Dossett joined in on the Orange slug fest, posting a double and two RBIs. Sophomore Maddi Doane and junior Alyssa Dewes tallied one hit and one RBI, respectively.

Senior pitcher Jocelyn Cater totaled 12 strikeouts throughout six innings of play.

The Orange resume fall play this Sunday, Sept. 20 at noon against Colgate in Hamilton, N.Y.
