SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Orange head football Dino Babers filled another vacancy on his support staff on Monday, Jan. 11, naming Asil Mulbah the program's director of recruiting operations. Mulbah comes to Syracuse after spending the previous two seasons as Wake Forest's director of high school relations.
Â
"Asil has done an outstanding job of establishing contacts with high school coaches from across the country," Babers said. "He got his feet wet in this conference at Wake Forest. Now he's coming to Syracuse to be the leader of our #OrangeIsTheNewFast recruiting program."
Â
Prior to working with head coach Dave Clawson at Wake Forest, Mulbah was a member of Clawson's staff at Bowling Green for three years. He was an academic coordinator/offensive quality control coach for the Falcons from 2010-11 and served as the program's assistant director of football operations in 2013.
Â
In between, Mulbah spent the 2012 season as a player personnel scouting assistant for the NFL's Jacksonville Jaguars. His duties included assisting in the evaluation of current players and working closely with General Manager Gene Smith to evaluate potential NFL free agents.
Â
Mulbah graduated from Fordham University in 2010 with a degree in business administration. He was a linebacker for the Rams from 2006-07 and totaled 31 career tackles before his career was cut short due to injury.
