Syracuse Athletics is hosting its second and final Red Cross blood drive of the fall semester on Monday, Dec. 5. The drive will last from 12 p.m. until 5 p.m. in the Hall of Fame area of Manley Field House. The goal is to collect 25 units of blood by the end of the day.Â
Blood and platelets donations decline during the holiday season, but the Red Cross still must collect about 14,000 pints of blood every day to meet the needs of patients at approximately 2,600 hospitals and tranfusion centers across the country.Â
If eligible, interested donors can stop by and give the perfect gift this season, the gift of life. Donors can schedule an appointment by calling 1-800-RED CROSS or visiting redcrossblood.org. Non-scheduled donations are also welcome.Â
